• Take full ownership of features and platform capabilities, working across backend (Python/Kotlin) and frontend (React/TypeScript) layers to deliver end-to-end solutions. 
• Lead the delivery of complex or ambiguous full-stack projects, breaking down problems, scoping technical work, and shipping iteratively.
• Work primarily in Python and Kotlin-based services to build reliable, scalable, and maintainable internal systems.
• Contribute to platform-wide efforts like authentication, permissions, notifications, and shared UI patterns.
• Collaborate with product managers and designers to define technical solutions that balance speed, scope, and user experience.
• Write high-quality, well-tested code across both frontend and backend codebases.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers through pairing, design reviews, and technical feedback.
• Make our codebase AI-ready: define clear module boundaries, improve API contracts, add semantic context, and build the structured documentation that makes AI agents more effective across every repo.
• Design and implement agent workflows that go beyond chat: multi-step reasoning, tool use, autonomous task execution, and human-gated checkpoints.
• Run experiments, validate with real users, and iterate based on evidence. We measure learning velocity, not just output.
• Collaborate closely with product managers and designers to shape what we build, not just how we build it. We expect a product mindset, not just technical execution.
• Act as a knowledge multiplier, sharing what you learn across and beyond your team to raise the bar for everyone.

• Have 5+ years of professional engineering experience. 
• 4+ years of professional experience building and maintaining production systems at scale.
• Strong backend development skills in Python, Kotlin, or Java, with experience designing and evolving service-level logic and infrastructure.
• Working proficiency in React and TypeScript, with the ability to contribute meaningfully to frontend implementation and UX polish.
• Proven ability to own features end-to-end across backend and frontend systems.
• Experience delivering projects iteratively in cross-functional teams.
• Familiarity with tools like PostgreSQL, Kafka, GraphQL, and AWS.
• Experience mentoring other engineers and helping uplift team-wide engineering quality.
• Clear communication skills - especially when explaining technical trade-offs and collaborating across functions.
• A pragmatic, product-focused mindset - you care about delivering impact, not just elegant code.
• Bonus: Experience building AI agents, with familiarity with frameworks such as Pydantic AI, LangGraph, AutoGen, or CrewAI.
• Bonus: Curiosity to explore AI-based tooling for accelerating backend/frontend development or automation
• Bring product thinking to engineering work. You can articulate why something matters for users, not just how it works technically.

Hubert Palan, Founder & CEO 

Hubert is the founder and CEO of Productboard. Driven by a passion for building truly excellent products, he started the company back in 2015 when he saw a hole in the market for a dedicated product management platform. Prior to Productboard, Hubert was VP of Product Management at GoodData. Passionate about sharing his knowledge and experience, Hubert mentors and advises startups and judges teams at entrepreneurship competitions. He frequently speaks at his two alma maters – the University of California, Berkeley, where he got his MBA and certificate in Entrepreneurship, and the Czech Technical University, where he received an MSc. in Computer Science. In a past life, Hubert worked in management consulting. Fun fact: he once trained 20 national park managers in Vietnam on ecotourism marketing. Originally from the Czech Republic, Hubert now lives in the San Francisco Bay area with his wife, Jenna, and their two young sons and daughter, Hubert V, Nicholas, and Viviana.

Daniel Hejl, Chief AI Officer & Co-founder

Daniel is the Chief AI Officer and co-founder of Productboard. Before teaming up with Hubert Palan to build the company from the ground up, Daniel was a Senior Software Developer at Trumaker. He graduated from the University of Economics in Prague, where he earned an M.S. in Information Technology and Systems. When he’s not developing the next Productboard, Daniel enjoys helping budding entrepreneurs build excellent products. He mentors at Startup Weekend and various other events, where he helps startups and product teams solve complex technical challenges. 

Omer Mahmood, CTO

With over 20 years of experience, Omer has led and scaled multi-product, multi-site engineering teams across both D2C and B2B enterprise domains. His leadership journey spans organizations from 4 to 280+ engineers, driving growth through product innovation, organizational scalability, and strategic execution.

He has played a key role in helping companies navigate fundraising rounds, expanding from a single product to a multi-product platform, and expanding into new geographies. His approach blends technical expertise with business acumen, ensuring both engineering excellence and customer impact.

Jordan Nolff, VP of Growth

Jordan is the VP of Growth & Product at Productboard, where he leads the Growth organization with a mandate to make it exceptionally easy for teams around the world to discover, trial, buy, and use Productboard’s suite of products and services. Since joining Productboard, he has rebuilt and scaled the Growth team and expanded his scope to also lead AI product, product marketing, and analytics, helping position Productboard as a leading AI-first platform for product managers.

Prior to Productboard, Jordan spent nearly seven years at SurveyMonkey, where he held a series of senior leadership roles across product growth, monetization, and corporate development. As Director and Head of Product Growth and Monetization, he led initiatives spanning pricing and packaging, revenue optimization, and product-led growth, driving meaningful impact across both self-serve and enterprise motions.
